Garden City Adventures

Japanese Garden

Today Sarah persuaded me to get on my bicycle for the first time this spring. I was nervous about it but we got everything configured just right so I was comfortable. That bike is still new to me. I usually use my electric bike, not my pedal bike. We took Atkins road to the Galloping Goose. Wow! what a beautiful section of bike trail that is! I love the bridges and trestles!

video footage of going GREEN

hello everyone,

I just received an email from Elizabeth May's campaign office, thanking our school, the Saanich Adult Education Centre, for inviting her to visit. She participated in our natural building workshop and spoke briefly to the community members gathered there. It's great to see cob building and community in action! Here is the link to the YouTube video:

Her speech was a lot longer but the clips on the video give you a good idea of how our visit with Elizabeth went.

New! Classes and Workshops

Happy New Year!

2011 has begun with a lot of happenings in the studio and new projects out in the community.

Starting next week I will be offering some fun art classes for adults and teens at the Juan De Fuca Recreation Centre in Colwood and some workshops at the Coast Collective Art Centre by Esquimalt Lagoon. See below for information and how to register.

Art exhibit at Saanich Municipal Hall

My art is on display in the glass cube display case at the main entrance to Saanich Municipal Hall, October 20 to November 23. The exhibit features some paintings from the last year, some photography and some brand new pieces I made with linocut printmaking. Hope you can go see the show!

Cheers!

Caroline

Fall Harvest

Fall Harvest

Hello everyone,

There's no place like home...

Hello everyone,

it's a very warm day today, but not too warm. The heat wave is giving us a breather for a short spell.

I'm glad to be home after almost three weeks away on a road trip through the Kootenays and Alberta. Visits to family and long-time friends were really wonderful. It was very good to reconnect with my roots in Calgary. But at the end of every trip I have to click my ruby slippers together: there's no place like home…there's no place like home...

Now that I am home again there is much to do and some news to share.

Summer is HERE!

Hi everyone!

Yesterday was the Moss Street Paint-In. It was a lot of fun! I streamlined my display set up for this year's event so instead of being stressed out I relaxed. I enjoyed talking to all the visitors who came by. I even sold a painting! It was one of my underwater watercolours.

Summer is coming
